I came to my career in naturopathic medicine in my 30s – even though I was interested in medicine since I was a kid, the idea of practicing conventional medicine just never clicked.
What sets us apart from medical doctors is the focus on making lasting changes in the health of our patients; educating them on how everyday choices can affect our health; and most of all, asking why?
Getting to the why – the root cause of any problem – is the only way to truly fix it, and this is demonstrated repeatedly in the results our patients see when under naturopathic care.
I like to describe myself as your guide on your health journey: I work with you to identify and remove your obstacles to good health and teach you how to make changes that are effective and sustainable. I consider all aspects of a patient’s past and current health when deciding how to best move forward with making improvements. This can involve a variety of diagnostic tools, including a detailed health history, physical exam, and ordering any required lab tests.
My areas of special interest include
- digestive health
- men’s health
- stress and sleep issues
- mental health/mood disorders
- aging well
- detoxification support
- hormone balancing
- cardiovascular disease
- HIV support

I completed my Bachelor of Science (Life Sciences, Honours) at Queen’s University and graduated from Boucher Institute of Naturopathic Medicine in New Westminster, BC. During my time at Boucher, I was fortunate to be able to complete part of my clinical rotation at several of the school’s external clinics, including Friends for Life – a non-profit organization supporting members living with chronic disease; Positive Living BC – another non-profit to support people living with HIV and AIDS; and the Family Naturopathic Clinic (Victoria, BC) – a program that offers free naturopathic care for low-income families in the Victoria area. I have now returned to Boucher as part-time academic faculty and clinic supervisor.
