My journey into health and wellness began in 1998 after being introduced into yoga. I started my meditation practice and then became curious about alternative healing methods. Serendipity lead me to Reiki which then lead me into training as an RMT. I am now a Registered Massage Therapist and a Reiki Level III practitioner.
I trained at the West Coast College of Massage Therapy’s 3000-hour program. One of the most challenging and recognized colleges for massage therapy in North America. I am fascinated by our wonderfully complex human bodies. So many studies have shown how stress and pain can cause a debilitating cycle of discomfort physically, mentally, and emotionally over time. In my quest to relieve dis-ease, I have learned that all of us have an innate ability to instigate our own healing. Most of the modalities I incorporate into my practice are CranioSacral, Trigger point release, Joint mobilization, Myofascial release, and Swedish massage. I also work with you to incorporate deep breathing and focused intention for assisted release and relief from discomfort.
I am a member of the College of Massage Therapy of BC, the Massage Therapists Association of BC, and the Canadian Reiki Association. I completed my formal education at SFU and graduated with a B.A. in English Literature. Teaching beckoned, but the field of health and wellness was more suited for me after having some profound experiences in the aforementioned areas. I can see teaching in my future, but right now I am still a student of life. Some of my extracurricular pursuits are yoga, dance, hiking, running, and esoteric reading.
